interested person may request the Department of Intellectual Property Rights cancel the geographical indication registration.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Intellectual Property Rights will cancel the registration if:\n<ul>\n<ol>\n<li>The rights\u200b\u200b owner does not respect and follow the conditions in the application;<\/li>\n<li>The rights owner of the registered geographical indication requests for cancellation;<\/li>\n<li>The registered geographical indication lose its special characteristic as geographical indication goods<\/li>\n<li>Foreign geographical indication which is not, cease to be protected or disuse in its country of origin;<\/li>\n<li>The address for service in the Kingdom of Cambodia cannot be communicated minimum 3 times by any means within 3 months;<\/li>\n<li>The rights owner of the registered geographical indication does not follow the conditions of submitting the supported documents as prescribed in Article 17 of the GI law,<\/li>\n<li>The rights owner does not comply with the law and regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p> The Department of Intellectual Property Rights will examine the observation for cancellation by verifying the fact and evaluate in order to make decision to confirm, amend or cancel the geographical indication based on the this law and regulations in force.<\/p>\n<p>The cancellation of a registered geographical indication will be deemed to have been effective from the date of the decision. <\/p>\n<p>The cancellation of a registered geographical indication will be recorded and published in the official gazette and will be publicized immediately.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Removal of a GI Trademark Any relevant person may request the Department of Intellectual Property to remove a GI trademark. The Department of Intellectual Property will revoke the registration of this trademark if: Lost the status of a geographical mark, a geographical mark, a foreign brand that is protected or no longer used in its country of origin, an address for services in the Kingdom of Cambodia can not be contacted at least 3 times by any means Within 3 months, the registered geographical trademark holder does not comply with the conditions of the supporting documents submitted as defined in article 17 of the law on geographical trademarks, the non-compliant trademark owner . The Department of Intellectual Property will review the observation for deletion by verifying the facts and evaluating it to make a decision to approve the correction or deletion of the GI trademark in accordance with this law and the regulations in force. The cancellation of a registered GI will take effect from the date of the decision.
